What gets covered
Fractions, ratios, negative numbers, and the jump into working with variables — the stage where a small gap turns into a large one later.
Linear and quadratic equations, functions, proofs, and coordinate geometry. Homework, unit tests, and catching up after a missed stretch.
Trigonometry, logarithms, sequences and the function work that calculus assumes you already have.
How a session runs
Photograph the assignment or the returned test and send it ahead. No session time is spent finding the problem.
A wrong answer in geometry is usually a missing idea from two chapters back. That is what gets taught, not just the answer to tonight's homework.
What was covered, and what to drill before next time. Parents get it too, so nobody is guessing about progress.
September and January are the busiest months, and the weeks before finals fill fastest. If a unit test is coming, book the two-hour intensive rather than a standard hour — it is $55 and built entirely around the study guide you send.
Tutoring questions
Which math do you cover?
Grades 6 through 12 — pre-algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, geometry, and pre-calculus. That covers most of what Connecticut middle and high school students are set, including the unit that quietly stopped making sense two chapters ago.
In person or online?
Either. In person across Fairfield and New Haven Counties, or online over video with a shared screen, which works well for worked problems. Sessions are $30 an hour whichever you choose.
What should we send before a session?
Photograph the assignment, the study guide, or the returned test and send it ahead. No session time is then spent working out what the problem is, which on a one-hour booking is worth real money.
My child is failing a unit. Can one session fix it?
Usually not, and it would be dishonest to say otherwise. A wrong answer in geometry is normally a missing idea from earlier, so the first session is spent finding the actual gap. Most students need a short run of sessions rather than one rescue.
Do you help with test prep specifically?
Yes. A two-hour intensive is $55 and is built around a specific unit test or final. Send the study guide ahead and the session targets what is on it rather than reviewing everything.
Is there a discount for booking several sessions?
A block of five is $130, which is $26 a session against the $30 single rate. Blocks suit a student working through a whole unit; single sessions suit a one-off problem before a test.
Test coming up?
Send the study guide and book the two-hour intensive. $55, in person across both counties or online.
